Angus Soft Fruits is a UK soft fruit marketing company that sources products worldwide. We recognise the responsibility that we share with our suppliers to buy and sell products in an ethical manner. As part of our commitment towards the Modern Slavery Act 2015, Angus Soft Fruits takes a zero tolerance approach to slavery and human trafficking which is shared with all our suppliers.
We work with more than 100 suppliers in 16 different countries in Europe, North Africa and North and South America. Our supply chain varies from one tier to more complex multi-tiered suppliers.
We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our policies reflect our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking does not take place anywhere in out supply chain.
As part of our company’s due diligence process we audit our suppliers on a regular basis and will only work with companies who also commit to the eradication of slavery and human trafficking. The auditing process is either through physical audits or assessment of questionnaires that include a range of questions on human rights. Suppliers that are considered at higher risk are required to be audited independently by approved auditing companies.
To maintain awareness and ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business, key personnel attended the Stronger Together workshop and all employees have received training in the Stronger Together principles and are encouraged to report any issues.
Angus Soft Fruits has also facilitated a Stronger Together workshop for all our UK growers.
The board of Directors shall be responsible for the implementation of this policy statement and shall provide adequate resources, training and investment to ensure compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
