The Launch of the strawberry variety AVA in 2003 allowed retailers to establish a premium sector within the category bringing much needed inflation to the sector. Retailer demand for Ava continues to outstrip supply reflecting the superior taste thus high customer demand.
Angus Soft fruits developed the AVA brand, a first for a European soft fruit variety.
Angus Soft Fruits works closely with its growers and its retail customers to produce balanced production programmes focussing on producing only varieties that the customer wants
Ava is available from May through until October in the UK.
Alliances with partners in Holland and Spain mean Ava will be available in April and
November ~ a season extension of 2 months, which allows our growing customer base to enjoy delicious AVA Strawberries for longer.
