At Angus Soft Fruits, we’re looking for motivated Machine Operators to help deliver the high-quality berries enjoyed by customers across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. This is an exciting opportunity to work with advanced grading, packing and robotic technology while developing your skills within a growing and supportive business.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our production lines operate safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards, helping us delight customers every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Machine Operator, you’ll be responsible for the smooth operation of key production equipment, including:

• Pro Seal packing machines
• BBC Blueberry Graders
• Unitec Graders
• Robotic packing equipment

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating and monitoring production machinery to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Completing machine checks and line inspections to ensure safe and effective operation.
• Setting up packaging materials and preparing production lines for daily operations.
• Carrying out tool changeovers and working closely with our Maintenance Team to ensure smooth transitions between product runs.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Ensuring food safety, quality, health and safety standards are maintained at all times.
• Supporting colleagues to achieve daily production targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Maintaining accurate production records and reporting information.
• Ensuring production lines are cleaned and closed down correctly at the end of each shift.

Upper Level Machine Operators

For experienced operators, there is an opportunity to take responsibility for our BBC and Unitec grading systems, including:

• Optimising grader settings to maximise product quality and minimise waste.
• Conducting machinery checks and performance monitoring.
• Ensuring accurate reporting and data integrity.
• Working with equipment suppliers and external stakeholders to support continuous improvement and equipment optimisation.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

✅ Previous experience working in a packhouse, food production or manufacturing environment

✅ Experience operating production machinery and troubleshooting issues

✅ Strong understanding of health and safety and food hygiene requirements

✅ Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multilingual team

✅ Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines

✅ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

✅ A proactive, positive attitude and a willingness to support colleagues

✅ A passion for teamwork and continuous improvement
