Angus, The Berry Specialists was established in 1994 in the berry fields of Angus in Scotland.
Founded by three passionate growers, Lochy Porter, his father Willie Porter and his cousin James Gray, the business was built on a simple ambition. They set out to work directly with retailers and continually raise the standard of berries available to consumers. That same ambition still shapes everything we do today.
For over 30 years, Angus Soft Fruits has been driven by people who care deeply about the fruit they grow. Rooted in the berry fields of Angus and supported by a global network of trusted growers, we work together to deliver great tasting berries that delight customers every day.
Our teams blend hands-on experience with a forward-thinking approach, constantly raising standards across the way we grow, pack, and supply fruit. Innovation, responsible growing and a genuine love for what we do are central to our business, and it’s this commitment that sets our berries apart for flavour, consistency and quality.

Our AVA™ Berries Breeding Programme provides our customers with exclusive berry varieties. These varieties give retailers a point of difference on the shelf, help build consumer loyalty, and encourage repeat purchases, supporting growth in market share.

As demand increased, our network grew with it. Today we work closely with trusted growers in the UK and around the world to ensure a consistent year-round supply of high-quality berries.
These relationships are built on collaboration, long-term commitment and a shared passion for growing exceptional fruit. Our Head Office remains in Angus, a region known for its rich agricultural heritage and long-standing reputation as the heart of traditional berry growing in Scotland.
