Welcoming Newcastle University Placements

Welcoming Newcastle University Placements

Earlier this year, the Angus Soft Fruits Marketing Team welcomed two students, Alice and Tom, from Newcastle University, on an 8-week placement to complete their Graduate Skills Module. Alice and Tom worked with our Marketing team to develop their teamwork, communication, planning, organisation and problem-solving skills on some exciting Marketing projects.

Jill Witheyman, Head of Marketing –

Alice and Tom were a delight to mentor. They became a real extension of our team; we were sad to see them go after the 8-week placement period. During their time with us, they worked efficiently and effectively in developing their graduate skills; they both had an incredible drive to achieve. Whilst developing their skills during that time, they were incredibly helpful to our department in developing new and existing projects. Our team was proud to be part of their personal development; they will both be an asset to future employers. We wish them all the best.

Alice and Tom, University of Newcastle –

Working in the marketing department at Angus Soft Fruits has been an incredible experience. We have learnt so much about marketing and strategies, particularly focussed on the soft fruit market in Singapore and Dubai. The marketing team are so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. Thanks to Jill and Anneka, help was never far away, and regular meetings allowed plenty of feedback to facilitate my personal development. I cannot think of any other work experience I have had that comes close to this, both in terms of enjoyment and lessons learned. For anyone considering a placement at Angus Soft Fruits, heed my advice; you will thank me later!

We wish them the berry best of success in their future careers.
