Angus Soft Fruits and AVA™ Berries were proud to receive the Business Innovation Award at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards, recognising the launch of the AVA™ Monet raspberry and the innovation behind its development.
The award celebrates a significant milestone for the business and for the wider berry sector. AVA™ Monet represents eight years of dedicated breeding, research and collaboration, resulting in a raspberry variety that delivers exceptional quality, flavour and performance. Described as a true “work of art” in raspberry breeding, AVA™ Monet reflects the long-term commitment to innovation that sits at the heart of Angus Soft Fruits and the AVA™ Berries Breeding Programme.
The achievement is the result of close collaboration between breeding, growing, technical and commercial teams, alongside trusted grower partners who played a vital role in bringing the variety from concept to commercial reality. Their shared expertise and dedication have helped create a variety that is already making a positive impact within the premium raspberry category.
The award was collected on the night by representatives from Angus Growers and Angus Soft Fruits, highlighting the importance of partnership and teamwork in driving innovation forward. Angus Soft Fruits would like to thank Scotland Food & Drink for hosting a fantastic awards ceremony and for celebrating excellence across the Scottish food and drink industry.
We also congratulate all finalists and winners who were recognised on the evening. Awards such as these provide an opportunity to showcase the creativity, ambition and innovation that continue to shape the future of the sector.
