ASF colleagues pledge to reduce their carbon footprint by 9.8 tonnes for two months

To inspire our colleagues to think outside the box when it comes to sustainability, ASF teamed up with Do Nation, an online platform which offers people the chance to try out small steps to live more sustainably for two months.  As part of our sustainability challenge, which started in November 2021, colleagues made 295 pledges to reduce their environmental impact.  The most popular pledges included recycling more, reducing food waste, optimising PC power, and putting less water in the kettle.

The total impact of the pledges was to prevent 9.8 tonnes of CO2, from being generated – the equivalent of 174 London to Paris flights worth of carbon.  This shows that we can make a big impact through small changes when we work together!

Special recognition is deserved by our Finance team, who made the most pledges per person, and the Operations team, who came a close second.

As a business we have committed to reach net zero by 2040, and our colleagues in all areas of the business will be an essential part of this journey.

If you’re feeling inspired to take action, you can find ideas on Do Nation’s list of over 50 pledges here: Do Nation.
