Doddie Weir OBE is one of rugby’s most recognisable personalities.
A talented, committed and athletic lock forward, Doddie is now facing his biggest challenge. In June 2017 the Scot revealed he was suffering from Motor Neuron Disease. From the outset, Doddie has been driven to help fellow sufferers and seek ways to further research into this, as yet, incurable disease.
In November 2017, Doddie and his trustees launched the registered charity, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. Our vision is simple: A World Free of MND.
Angus Soft Fruits – Salford Priors – England will be supporting Acorns Children’s Hospice
A parent never imagines their child will be diagnosed with a life limiting or life threatening condition. But when the unimaginable happens, Acorns steps in, helping families cope at every stage of their child’s life and beyond, wherever and whenever they need it.
Our dedicated teams provide specialist palliative care for babies, children and young people, and support for their families. This support is offered from our three hospices, based in Worcester, Birmingham and Walsall, and in the community.
Angus Soft Fruits – Spain will be supporting Prioprio Impulso

Angus Soft Fruits – Netherlands will be supporting Sophia Kinderziekenhuis
The Friends of Sophia Hospital Foundation is the fund-raising arm of the Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital. With the aid of gifts and donations, the Foundation funds extra research into treatment methods.
The Foundation also supports projects that are designed to make a hospital stay as pleasant as possible – both for children and for their parents. The Foundation funds attractive wall decorations and furnishings, games and toys, and colourful fittings that bring liven up the corridors.
Angus Soft Fruits – Chile will be supporting María Ayuda
We welcome children and adolescents violated in their dignity and rights, in situations of mistreatment, abuse and abandonment, to heal their ties and reintegrate them into a family environment, in the shortest possible time.
If the conditions do not exist, we prepare young people for independent life.
Angus Soft Fruits – Morocco will be announcing their charity in the coming weeks.
We are looking forward to getting started on some fun and fantastic charity activities throughout the year. With many of them taking place throughout Angus as ‘One Team’.
